Privacy Policy

This explains what Buildr Home collects when you look at our website or buy a door, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to show, fix or remove it.

1. Who we are

Buildr Home is run by YNET Plus Inc., an Ontario corporation that trades as Buildr and Buildr Home ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described here.

Privacy contact: our Privacy Officer, hi@buildr.to, YNET Plus Inc., 201 Millway Ave, Unit 28, Concord, ON L4K 5K8, Canada. Subject line: Privacy request.

This policy covers slidingdoor.ca and buying through it, including when you start from a partner website that shows our door picker. If you start on a partner website, the checkout still happens on slidingdoor.ca. That partner has its own privacy policy for its own site, and we do not control it. If you are a trade customer using the Buildr app, the Buildr app privacy policy at buildr.to/privacy.html applies to that.

2. What we collect when you buy

You do not need an account. Buying is a guest checkout and it does not create an account. We collect:

Please do not put payment or health details in the note, and please do not give us another person's information unless they have agreed.

3. Why we collect it

We collect only what these purposes need. We do not sell your information. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not send marketing emails or texts. If that changes we will ask you first.

4. The order update text messages

When your door is ready we send you a text message from our number, +1 437 525 3828. It says your order number and where to collect it. If your door has not been collected, we send a reminder by text and email on day 7 and on day 21 after it was ready. These texts are about your order only, and nothing in them will try to sell you anything. By giving us your mobile number at checkout you agree to these order texts. There is no separate box to tick.

5. Who helps us handle your information

These companies handle information for us or at your request. They have their own privacy policies. Some of them handle information outside Canada, mostly in the United States, and it may then be open to the authorities there under their laws.

StripeTakes your payment, refunds, fraud checks, disputesYour card or wallet details, name, email, amount, order reference
KlarnaOnly if you choose Klarna: decides whether to offer Pay in 4 and runs your payments. Klarna uses your information under its own terms and privacy policy, and is responsible for itWhat you give Klarna to use it, plus the amount and order reference

TwilioSends the order update text and carries replies to our teamYour phone number and the text
CloudflareRuns a security check (Turnstile) on the checkout form that tells people from automated abuseYour IP address and technical details of your visit to the checkout form
Google FontsSupplies the typefaces our pages use. Your browser loads them from GoogleYour IP address and browser details when a page loads
An installerOnly if you ask us to pass your job to oneYour name, phone, and the job details

We also share information when the law requires it, for example with a court or tax authority, or to protect our legal rights. We do not give it to anyone else.

6. Cookies and counting visits

We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking tools on slidingdoor.ca at the time of this policy, and we do not use advertising cookies. Your browser keeps your door choice and typed details in its own temporary storage while you check out, so you do not lose them if you press back. It clears when your order is placed or you close the tab. Stripe, Klarna and Cloudflare may set their own cookies or use similar technology on their own pages. If we add analytics or advertising later, we will update this policy before we do.

7. How long we keep it

WhatHow long
Your order record: name, email, door, size, price, HST, payment reference and order numberGenerally 6 years from the end of the last tax year it relates to, because tax and payment record rules expect it. Longer if a legal hold or specific rule requires
Your optional noteWe remove it 90 days after you place your order, once the order is finished
Your mobile phone numberWe remove it from the order 12 months after you place your order, once the order is finished
Your emails and messages to usUp to 24 months after the question is settled
Technical and error logs30 days. Security logs, 90 days. Longer only if we need them for an investigation or the law
Email delivery recordsUp to 90 days
BackupsThey expire in at most 35 days. If we ever restore a backup, we apply any removal again
Records of a privacy breachAt least 24 months after we find it

An order is finished when you collect your door, when it is cancelled or refunded, or when the 30 day hold on a finished door has ended. A daily job does the removal and keeps a record that it was done, without the removed text. Order records are kept with restricted access, and are never used to market to you. When we no longer need information we delete it or make it so it no longer identifies you. Stripe, Klarna, Twilio and our other helpers keep their own records under their own rules. Klarna is responsible for its own records and we cannot remove them.

8. Your rights

You can ask us:

We usually answer in writing within 30 days. If we need more time, or the law lets us decline part of a request, we will tell you why.

If you are not happy with how we handled something, please tell us first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. Using our contact details never costs you your right to complain.

9. Asking us to see, correct or remove your information

You do not have an account to delete, so you ask us by email:

  1. Email hi@buildr.to with the subject Privacy request.
  2. Give your order number and the email address or phone number you used on the order. If you do not have your order number, give your name and the date you ordered.
  3. We check that your request matches the order. We may ask one or two questions only you could answer, and we will not ask for a copy of your identity documents. We do this so nobody can see or remove another person's information.
  4. We reply within 30 days. We tell you what we have removed, and what we have kept and why. For example, we may remove your note and your phone number early, and keep the order, price, tax and payment record for the period in the table above.
  5. If you want Stripe, Klarna or another company to remove what it holds, we can ask on your request where we are able to, and you can also contact them yourself.

Removal does not cancel an open order and does not change a refund you are owed.

10. Keeping your information safe

We limit who can see your information, keep our systems access controlled, and host our database with a provider in Canada. No system is perfectly secure. If a privacy incident puts you at real risk, we will tell you as the law requires. Never send us your full card number or identity documents in a message.

11. Age

Buildr Home is for adults buying for their own home. You must be 18 or older to buy. If you think a young person has given us information, contact us and we will deal with it.

12. Changes

We may update this policy when our practice changes, and we will put the new date at the top. We will tell you or ask you again if the law requires it. Orders placed earlier are handled under the policy that applied then, unless you agree otherwise.
